We got so busy last month by joining 3 bridal fairs last June and things are settling down a bit this week but still lots of work to do at Imagine Nation. I’ll be sharing new images hopefully in the next few days. I was browsing through my library of books and I saw this book that I really treasure, Paul Arden’s Whatever you think, think the opposite. Its not really a book but a manifesto or collection of ideas and thoughts wittily crafted with pictures and illustrations on having a creative mindset. Paul basically encourages us to go against the norm and always challenge our way of thinking if we ever want to do something great or significant. Its a must-read book especially when you are an artist. Have a great weekend everyone!

Lover of Style or Style Challenged? In case you don’t know this site yet, I strongly recommend you check out The Sartorialist. This site chronicles Scott Schuman’s love and passion for style and fashion. He is based in New York and basically goes around the fashion capitals of the world and takes pictures of real people on the street that catches his eye in terms of their visual appeal and style of wearing their clothes. Here’s his description:
“The Sartorialist is a fashion blog by Scott Schuman, a former director of men’s fashion at Bergdorf Goodman in New York. After leaving his position to take care of his daughter in 2005, he began carrying a digital camera around on the streets of New York City, taking pictures of people who had dressed in some way that caught his eye, and then posting them to his blog, sometimes with comments about what he finds. He describes his philosophy as trying to echo how fashion designers looked at what they saw on the street…”
I love fashion and getting dressed up for an event. That’s why I connect with Scott, that you can be a straight guy and still appreciate the importance of the art of dressing well. For couple’s planning to have their engagement session/prenup shoot, I recommend you get inspiration from this site. Thanks Scott for sharing your passion!

We started near Fisherman’s Wharf.
Then headed to Port of San Francisco, Embarcadero.
Last stop was Land’s End Trail, Gucci’s favorite place to do her running.I love this place! It’s one of the most picturesque locations I’ve shot in, it feels like I’m shooting in Jurassic Park.

I only talked to Eric and Fritz through an email inquiry since she was based in the U.S. After a series of emails and meeting up with her cousin, they finally decided to get me for their wedding in Manila. Since I was travelling to shoot a wedding in the U.S., I asked them if they were interested in having their engagement shoot in San Francisco since they lived nearby. This post is long overdue but this shoot is so fun and memorable that it should be shared not kept! I actually had 2 engagement shoots in 1 day and this was the first one.
It was really early so we decided to have breakfast at Mels, but I could not resist shooting Eric and Fritz while we were waiting for the food.
Then we hit the Palce of Fine Arts.
Last set was Baker beach and some places nearby.

Phottix Strato Wirelles TriggerJune 15th, 2011I got this just yesterday and I’m looking forward testing them out. So far I’ve heard good reviews from my co-photogs in Imagine Nation, which, most of us in the studio have started using this as an alternative to the bigger and more expensive Pocket Wizards which I have been using now for quite sometime. So far I’ve heard good reviews from my co-photogs in Imagine Nation, which, most of us in the studio have started using this as an alternative to the bigger and more expensive Pocket Wizards which I have been using now for quite sometime. With an srp of P3,600 makes this really affordable to hobbyists who want to learn more about off-camera flash lighting plus it also can we a wireless remote shutter trigger, quite nifty! I’m not really heavy on the tech reviews and you can check it at the Phottix site.
