Cutting Edge Engagements

January 29, 2009

I’ve been blessed last year to have met so many wonderful couples. I’m really thankful that they put their trust in me to come up with different ideas for their engagement/prenup sessions. These couples were really game and we went all out to find cool locations and meticulously planned  their wardrobe.

I’ve come up with this video of my recent engagements that I felt were really creative and different. It was really a team effort wherein we all brainstormed on how we can make their engagement shoot a different and memorable experience.

Once again, for God’s glory.

The last quarter of 2008 was a real defining moment for me. At this point, I discovered how I want my style and imagery to be like. Stylish, Glamorous, Emotional and Moving, I believe that these are the words that best describe the images I capture. Thus, I’ve come up with this video of my recent weddings and share to you some of my favorite images that has shaped my style.

Most importantly, I offer this work to honor and glorify God.

Day 6: Michael and Cherry

January 22, 2009

The 6th and final installment of my consecutive weddings for this month. Finally! I’m finished with all my shoots for this January. Now I have more time to post all my weddings and engagements that I have been wanting to share with everyone. For this set, I was feeling kinda old school and thus I processed the images to that effect.

This day really shows the power of prayer. When I arrived at Lynnel’s hotel room I already felt that she was worried and she told me that Marlon was sick and he had a fever last night. I then thought of encouraging everyone in the room to pray with us. We lifted up the couples wedding day and most especially for Marlon to get well.  We also asked God to calm Lynnel’s heart that she may completely surrender and put her trust in him that everything will turn out for the best. True enough, when we got to the Church, Marlon told me that he felt better and the fever was gone and everything went well yesterday

As our team’s practice we always pray before the start of the shoot. Nowadays, we try to include our couples and everyone in the prepration room to join us in prayer. This just really affirms that when you seek God, he will answer. Enjoy the scenes from this day…full post to follow.

Day 4 of my weddings and we really had fun with our couple, Jacky and Annie, they did almost anything we ask them to. Also, It was my first time to shoot at historic Binondo church and we had a great portrait session at Sofitel.  As always, great work by  Christine Ong-Te and her team. Here’s some of my fave takes from this day. The full post soon…

Here’s Annie in her cute red shoes. We all loved it…so much character. It was even personalized since it had her name written on inside.

After the wedding, we headed back to Sofitel in Roxas blvd. for some sunset sessions. The skies that day was lovely. I found this spot where the sun shone through and placed them there. I like the dreamy mood that the afternoon sun provided to our couple.

Here are some scenes from our wedding today. I’ve been talking to Baldwin since last week to help him go over the details of our shoot  since we could not meet since I was shooting almost everyday this month. Their wedding took place in Manila Cathedral and their reception was in Crowne Plaza. Since it was a Chinese wedding, we had plenty of time to shoot our couple.

Here’s Sheila about to enter the church.

at Crowne Plaza…I like the blue dusk sky and it provided a nice backdrop for the couple.

Here’s some scenes from day 2 of my consecutive weddings shoot. I shot as a second photog for our mentor, John Mateos Ong, on this day.  It turns out that I already met Steve before through my good friend, Andrei Cornejo. I was surprised when I shot their engagement and discovered we knew each other. Also, I met familiar faces during this wedding since Steve and I had common friends.

A shot with the boys. That’s Steve in the center and to his left is Andrei, my good friend I haven’t seen in a long time.

I just had to make this shot as I saw the streaks of the afternoon sunlight entered through the windows of the church.

6 Days

January 16, 2009

I’ll be shooting from Jauary 16-21, that’s 6 consecutive days. I’m excited about these coming days since I know each day will be different but I know with God’s blessing I’ll be able to witness and capture beautiful moments. I just pray for lots of energy and creativity. My goal is to blog everyday  inspite of my hectic shooting schedule since I’m disciplining myself to be a better blogger this year :)

I just finished day 1 today and I start my 6-day  journey in Cold Tagaytay. I backed-up Jayjay Lucas for this shoot. Here’s a preview of our couple Carlo and Annabelle’s wedding in Tagaytay Highlands. Its really a small world since Carlo works for British American Tabaco and his boss Jeremy was our groom last December. Meanwhile, Annabelle who’s sister Michelle and Richard, her husband, are good friends of mine from college. Also, all of us went to the same college, University of Asia and the Pacific.

Time to sleep now…tomorrow I shoot with our mentor, John Mateos Ong.

Ryan and Jenny’s Wedding

January 15, 2009

Here’s the on-site slideshow of Ryan and Jenny, my friends from our community Single’s for Christ. As I mentioned on my previous blog, I almost did not shoot their wedding since I thought I won’t have enough time to arrive from my Zamboanga wedding the previous day. But God has really blessed us and fixed my schedule. I wasn’t able to show this at their wedding due to time constraints and I really thank Ryan and Jenny for understanding the situation. Nevertheless, it was a fun day and they were really game to do anything. Also, it was a pleasure to shoot again with Gerdie, whom I haven’t shot with for a long time. Enjoy watching :)
