Archive for December, 2008

Before 2008 ends, I just want to post one of my favorite engagement shoot of the the year. I’m currently  catching up with my blogging and I’d like to kick things off with this :)

I must say its always extra special whenever you shoot your friends, that’s why I always have this kind attitude and approach to shooting all my couples and I really go out of my way to spend time talk and get to know them and in the process make friends with them even after the wedding.

Get ready for a looong post since I’ve been wanting to shoot at Bonifacio High Street for sometime since I wanted to shoot with an urban feel to my images and it was a perfect opportunity to shoot Wally and Geann there. Call time to shoot them was 7am since we had to shoot before operating hours.

Wally’s one of my best buddies and we go way back since high school. He’s one of my “oldest” friends in terms of the number of years I’ve known him. Meanwhile, Geann’s a reporter for ABC 5 by the way if she seems a bit familiar.

As we entered from the parking I saw this neat wall to shoot them at for a bit of warm-up and orientation of how I’ll be shooting them.

Then I made use of the stores, walkways and park areas.

I just had to include this…the guy on the right really caught my attention haha! :)

So many areas and scenes to shoot from and I just went crazy shooting.

After all that shooting, would you believe that it was only around 10am and we had to eat breakfast. But that’s just the first set.

It’s not over yet! Get ready for something different. Whenever I shoot, I always try to think really hard of coming up with fresh and original ideas because I’m never satisfied with sticking to the standard shots I make. I guess that’s the perfectionist in me. I knew that Wally and Geann are a fun-loving couple and I wanted to think of a way to celebrate that and just make them enjoy their engagement shoot. So I fed them the idea of shooting inside Fully Booked and wanted to do a “Geek Theme” for them and they were really excited with the idea and with God’s blessing we were able to get a permit from the store.

We started at the book shelves area and I just gravitated to the cool text on the walls. I must say that these two were so game and they really took the idea I gave them and ran with it.

Again so many places to shoot inside Fully Booked. Now for some action shots.

Geeks love music too.

I just found out that day that they had a mini-cinema and decided to shoot there too. Watch your hands Wally, that’s what you get! haha!

…and we’re still done. After a quick lunch we headed to U.P. Diliman where the two first met and became friends. Indeed this was a whole day action packed shooting!

What a cool and fun day of shooting!

I’m done for the year!

December 30, 2008

I’m officially on vacation. I just finished my last wedding for the year a few days ago. This month has been such a blessing as I shot 10 weddings and 2 engagements and I’m excited to post all of them in the coming days. Shooting resumes this Jan. 2 to 4, a wedding in Zamboanga on Jan. 9 and for the first time I have a 6 days straight wedding shoot from Jan. 16-21 and may possibly become 8 if an event pushes through on Jan. 14 and 15. This will really be an interesting and exciting month and what a way to start 2009 :)

Here are some images from my last wedding I’d like to share. More to follow…

Happy Holidays Everyone and May the grace of the Lord continue to be with you!

Its December and weddings are a buzz. So many shoots for our studio and we’re really blessed and thanful to God for giving us the opportunity to serve our couples. I can hardly keep up and post everything I shoot these past few months but I promise to post them as soon as I can since they all have a great story worth sharing. In the meantime here’s my first wedding for December.

Raymond and Minnie are architects based in Hong Kong. Their wedding was in Tagyatay. The church was in Calaruega and the reception was in Splendido. They held their preps in Canyon Woods and since they were in separate housed, our team had to split up. Mike Tan shot Raymond (Great Work on the Groom shots!) and I shot minnie and we all met a the church. It was a lovely wedding and I hope our pictures give you a feel of what happened that day.

Tagaytay always has a special place in my heart since I covered my first wedding there.

Gerry and Cherie’s Wedding

December 12, 2008

Gerry and Cherry did not originally choose me as their photographer. However, certain circumstances lead them to eventually get us to shoot their wedding. I was about to shoot their engagement before their wedding but I had my sudden operation a few months ago. Finally, I get to shoot them come wedding day and I would say this was one of my favorite weddings for this year.

We had to shoot the couple separately since they both chose to get ready at their respective homes. Here’s Cherrie and it was my first time to meet her since I always met with Gerry.

The wedding ceremony was held at Manila Cathedral. I like the way I shot at the church that day and I found new angles to shoot from.
